A remedy for that thirst- Wychwood Dr. Thirsty’s No. 4 Blonde

I came across this beer while in London, and chose it simply because of the label. The color is a nice golden yellow, and after opening it, you could easily pick up scents of fruits, citrus, and hops. The taste was a typical British blonde beer: very light carbonation; smooth foam and a somewhat grainy and bitter aftertaste. Overall, this Doctor didn't have what it takes to quench my thirst but it is a nice brew to have laying around on a hot, dry day; though you'll need a few to quench that thirst,which shouldn't be a problem as the abv is only 4.1 percent. .

Książęce Czerwony Lager

 This is another beer I picked up while in Poland.The color is a nice light brown, somewhat  red.  It is quite bitter, leaves the mouth dry and didn't leave a pleasant aftertaste at all. It is listed as having  4.9 percent alcohol, so the bitterness definitely came from the ingredients. It is also a bottom fermented beer, though I don't know that that has anything to do with the odd taste.  I think it is a beer meant to be had with some food, spicy or bbq, as the taste was again, quite bitter, and it gave off a quite a "hoppy"' aroma. Wasn't one of the better ambers I've had, but happy to have tried it.

Fun fact: The label has a red crown to commemorate the King Sobieski, who was born the same year the Tyskie Brewery was founded in 1629.

Belgian strong beer: Bush Ambrée (Scaldis)

This is a Belgian brew called Bush Ambrée. Surprisingly easy drinking for a strong 12 degree (percent for our American friends) beer. Very rich caramel colour with a smooth caramel finish as well. Definitely a beer that I would keep on hand for the regular rotation. Highly recommended. Very pleasant surprise.

 Fun fact: "It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion."

Poland time: Zamkowy Raciborskie Klasycznie Warzone

My first beer comes from Poland. I was recently on vacation in Warsaw and took the opportunity to give their beers a try. "Zamkowy Raciborskie Klasycznie Warzone", is a premium lager, brewed by Browar Zamkowy Raciborz. It has  a light golden color,  little to no head, and smells of  malt and hops. Overall, it's a typical lager with a bit of a bitter beginning but becomes sweeter towards the end with what tasted like honey and fruit.  If you've had lager before, this is nothing special, but pretty tasty and low enough in alcohol(5%) that you can enjoy a few without worrying.
